Wrexham are on the push for back to back promotions after finally getting into the football league last season. They begin the weekend in 3rd, so holding onto one of the automatic promotion spots, but only by goal difference, so it's all to play for. They travel away to face Grimsby on Saturday, a side down in 21st, but with a six point cushion ahead of the relegation places, so safe for now.

At one stage just a few weeks ago, I was fearing the worst for Grimsby, they were on a poor run of form, and dropping closer and closer to the relegation zone. But in recent weeks, they've managed to turn things around, and while they've not been winning every game, they have been hard to beat, picking up vital points.

They come into this one on a six game unbeaten run, which has seen them win two games and draw the other four. That kind of level is very good, 10 points, and a massive step towards safety. They played away to Gillingham last weekend, and came away with a good point in a 1-1 draw.

There was a lot of talk around Wrexham when they entered League Two at the start of the season, and despite being newcomers, they were installed as favourites for promotion. They've managed to live up to that billing, of course they've invested, but right now, they sit in the final automatic promotion spot, and if the season ended before the game on Saturday, then they'd be in League One next time around.

I'd describe their recent form as being good, without being anything better than that, but with every game vital at this point of the season, many teams are suffering the same fate. They come here on the back of a narrow 1-0 home loss to Tranmere last weekend, and before that, a 0-0 home draw with Harrogate, both games they were expected to win.

Big points up for grabs here and both teams will want them. Despite a recent blip, I am siding with Wrexham to get the win in this one. A top quality League Two team on their day, they are in a real fight for promotion, and I'm backing them to get the job done here.
